Future Imaging Plan - AI Animation Week

Building China’s first scalable AI animation ecosystem by bridging legacy IP with ByteDance’s generative tech.
In May 2025, I launched the "Future Imaging Plan: AI Animation Week", an industry-defining initiative in partnership with ByteDance’s Jimeng AI (即梦AI).Moving beyond isolated experiments, this project aimed to build a sustainable infrastructure for AI creativity. By opening up Shanghai Film’s legendary IP library to global creators, we established a new paradigm where Generative Video models are integrated directly into the animation production pipeline, rather than just serving as promotional tools.


Award

- The initiative resulted in a month-long offline AI art exhibition at Shanghai’s historic Yongfu Road 52 and a series of high-level industry roundtables.



I led the curation process for a massive influx of 6,700+ global entries, ultimately selecting 25 winning works for a multimedia showcase. The competition challenged creators to use the latest video generation models to reimagine three distinct aesthetic tracks: Classic Character Innovation (e.g., Havoc in Heaven), Narrative Reinterpretation (e.g., Lotus Lantern), and Modern Visual Style (e.g., Landscape).

This project was a landmark crossover between a State-owned Cultural Enterprise and a Tech Giant. I facilitated the strategic alignment between Shanghai Film’s rich intellectual property assets and ByteDance’s cutting-edge model capabilities, creating a roadmap for how technology companies and content studios can co-develop standards for the future of animation.
